A Collaborative Build Grounded in Trust, Expertise, and Vision
With two young children and a growing desire for space and nature, this family was ready to leave city life behind. What began as a simple online search turned into a custom home journey defined by creativity, clarity, and a shared sense of purpose.
Through a seamless partnership with Etai Harel and the Saritte Harel Team, the clients benefited from Moore Fine Homes’ full-service Search → Design → Build model, beginning with lot evaluation and continuing through architectural planning and construction management.
New Construction Home Project Overview
The Vision
What began as curiosity soon became a creative opportunity. The clients envisioned a timeless home that felt rooted and architecturally elegant, surrounded by usable outdoor space and designed for both everyday living and gatherings with extended family.
Initially, they explored purchasing an existing home. After losing a property they loved, they realized how invested they were in creating a home that truly matched their vision. Building from the ground up became the clear path forward.
The Process
Search
Their journey began when they searched for a “Short Hills builder” on Google and discovered Moore Fine Homes. From the first conversation, Etai stood out for his generosity with time and knowledge. He offered thoughtful advice without any pressure to commit.
Etai introduced them to the Saritte Harel Team, whose personalized property search approach stood out immediately. Rather than relying on automated alerts, the team carefully curated listings based on the clients’ specific needs.
Eventually, they discovered a flag lot offering rare privacy. With Etai’s guidance and input from a landscape architect, the clients reimagined the site’s long driveway and deep lot placement as an advantage that created a sense of retreat.
Design
The clients initially worked with an architect of their choosing but soon realized they needed more hands-on support. As first-time builders, interpreting drawings and understanding scale proved challenging.
They re-engaged Etai as a planning consultant, and he quickly became an invaluable collaborator. He attended meetings, reviewed plans critically, and proposed layout improvements that enhanced light, flow, and overall livability.
His guidance transformed what could have been an overwhelming design process into a collaborative and rewarding experience.
Build
When construction began, Moore Fine Homes took the lead on building the home. Early excavation revealed buried concrete debris from a prior demolition beneath the planned patio area. While others dismissed the concern, Etai insisted on structural reinforcements to ensure long-term stability.
This proactive mindset defined the project. His attention to detail and commitment to quality ensured the clients felt supported throughout every stage.
The Result
The finished home is a 9,500-square-foot, six-bedroom retreat that blends elegance, functionality, and timeless appeal. Radiant heated flooring runs throughout the house, ensuring year-round comfort.
The exterior combines stucco and brick to create architectural depth and avoid the look of a trend-driven new build.
Outdoor living was a priority from the start. The property now features a heated covered patio, pool, spa, and landscaped garden paths that connect the home to nature in every season.
When the home was later featured on a local house tour, visitors were surprised to learn it was a brand-new build rather than a historic renovation — exactly the timeless effect the clients had hoped to achieve.
